Artist's Comments

This is the first time i've really tried to do realsim. So, as it's my first time, i thought that i'd try to re-create an existing image. Any Tekken fan should know that this is the image which is displayed upon the back of the Tekken Tag instruction booklet.

I drew sketch of it ages ago, but only now decided to colour it. I'm really proud of how it turned out, as i can FINALLY do skin and hair shading.... well reasonably well anyway. ^-^

Tell me all what you think of my first atempt! :)

Jin is like, totally hot, as always :P

The hair is really good I think but the skin looks a bit too blurry at some places... I also think that he colouring of the eyes was better, if you would leave out these big white dots. ;-D

Looks cool! Far better than I could draw realism. ^^°°°
The right one looks at the left one, but the left one looks like he'd look at the right one's cheek. (wow, a lot look in that sentence. 0.o)

Anyway, you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission... quest... thing!
Oh yeah, never noticed that before, lol. Still, at least that's easy to fix ^-^ Thank you :)

Good skin tones, and I like the hair. For your first stab at a realistic painting, this is pretty good. I'd say overall it could be a bit more sharp and defined, it still looks somewhat rough and blurry. Also, try to incorporate a secondary light source - it's fairly easy to do and always ups the realism instantly by about 200% ;)

Looking good. especially for a first piece. But since you asked about suggestions, let see what I can offer:

The hair is good. You put a lot of detail into it, but you cropped it off to create the exact shape. Try letting the individual hairs continue, it adds some character to it.

For the character shading, try bringing in some cool colors instead of darker warm colors. It adds a bit or roundness to the shape.

I'd rather have a Sharp Tongue than a Dull Mind
For being the 1st time it's rather good. But however, in order to grant it more realism I owould recommend you to: a) --> sumdge to the outside the roots of each hair or b) --> paint a point in the screen -> apply motion blur to it -> clone and distort the hairs you create at your own (much busier method, but really effective).

Yeah, i know what you mean about the hair. I'll remember that for next time. I'll try a different way of doing it so i can make it more freely. ^-^

I'll try more cool glows too. Thanks for the advice!! ^-^
